Position Overview A Group Leader plans and facilitates safe and engaging activities for kids. The focus of this position is working in a team environment, building and maintaining relationships with children and families, and working closely and accurately within established guidelines governed by the Department of Early Education and Care. There is a need to be an effective communicator, someone who is able to stimulate and motivate others while being aware of and responsive to their needs and concerns. The person in this position must be friendly and genuinely interested in the well-being and education of young children and the needs of others, including children, families, the team and the school. Serve as a mandated reporter, reporting any suspicion of child abuse or neglect to the Directors for follow-through. Maintain Department of Early Education and Care compliance, COA, and QRIS; report to the Executive Director any potential non-compliances in a timely way. Meet with the Department of Early Education and Care licensor as needed. Communicate with the Director and the School Street team regarding EEC/COA/QRIS regulations on a regular basis. Group Leaders are responsible for the supervision and management of students grades K-5 in the program while maintaining a classroom/group in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the Concord Recreation Before School Program. Staff that are hired to work in the Concord Recreation Before School Program will have access to ongoing training, competitive compensation, and special discount rates for employee's children. This is a 10-month school year position* following the Concord Public School calendar from late August until early June. Salary range: $17.75 - $25 per hour, based on experience and education.
