Who We Are:
The Modern Classrooms Project is a fast-growing 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers educators to build classrooms that respond to every student's needs. Founded by two award‑winning teachers, we lead a movement of educators in implementing a self‑paced, mastery‑based instructional model that leverages technology to foster human connection, authentic learning, and social‑emotional growth.
To date, our free online course and Virtual Mentorship Program have empowered 60,000+ educators in 150+ countries. We've partnered with 200+ schools and districts to train and support both teachers and administrators, and researchers from Johns Hopkins University found “overwhelming positive support” for our approach. We are an ambitious, idealistic team and we are passionate about what we do.
Job Description - Why We Need You
The Director of Curriculum Solutions will own and grow a portfolio of strategic district and school partnerships that drive measurable student impact through the Modern Classrooms Project (MCP) model, with a particular focus on strengthening math instruction. This senior, relationship‑driven role blends deep instructional expertise with partnership and account leadership to ensure successful adoption, high‑quality implementation, and long‑term sustainability of MCP's work.
Reporting to the Chief Success Officer, the Director serves as the primary relationship owner for school, district, state, and philanthropic partners, working closely with principals, instructional coaches, and district leaders. The role is responsible for guiding partners through implementation of the MCP model, supporting renewal and expansion, and acting as a credible instructional thought partner who connects classroom practice to system‑level goals. As MCP continues to scale its curriculum‑aligned partnerships, this role will be critical to deepening impact within existing accounts and shaping future growth.
We're looking for a mission‑driven leader with strong math instructional expertise and proven success owning, renewing, and growing K-12 partnerships. You build trusted, executive‑level relationships, demonstrate student impact to sustain adoption, and align work to district and system priorities. You bring strong project management skills to drive cross‑functional execution and ensure partnership success.
Own Strategic Math Partner Relationships and Growth
Serve as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of district and school partners, building strong, trust‑based relationships with principals, instructional coaches, and district leaders.
Develop and execute account strategies that align MCP supports to partner priorities, timelines, and system goals, positioning partnerships for successful renewal and growth.
Partner with school and system leaders to support adoption and effective implementation of the MCP model, including aligned curriculum, assessment, and scheduling practices that drive improved student outcomes in math.
Act as a credible instructional thought partner, bringing deep understanding of high‑quality, mastery‑based, and differentiated math instruction to leadership and planning conversations.
Deliver professional learning, instructional coaching, and leadership support that builds local capacity and strengthens implementation fidelity.
Monitor implementation quality and impact using data, feedback, and classroom evidence; translate insights into clear narratives that communicate value and progress to partners.
Manage the full partnership lifecycle, including contract execution, renewal strategy, and identification of opportunities for expansion and deeper impact within existing accounts.
Represent MCP in partner meetings, site visits, and presentations, clearly and compellingly communicating the model, student outcomes, and vision.
Support school and district leaders in managing instructional change, including navigating shifts in practice, addressing implementation challenges, and building buy‑in among educators and leadership teams.
Communicate impact and value to senior district leaders through data, storytelling, and presentations that connect classroom practice to system‑wide outcomes.
Lead Cross‑Functional Implementation and Portfolio Oversight
Coordinate closely with internal teams-including Educator Support, Product, and Success-to design and execute partner‑specific implementation and support plans.
Track progress across the portfolio, prioritize resources strategically, and identify opportunities to deepen impact, refine supports, or adjust approach across accounts.
Serve as a key voice of the partner experience, synthesizing feedback and implementation insights to inform MCP's curriculum, product development, and service strategy.
Ensure all deliverables are well‑organized, clearly scheduled, and scoped appropriately across departments.
Develop a deep understanding of each partner's context to help MCP team members deliver high‑impact, meaningful support.
Habits of Work Required for the Role
Relationship‑Driven, In‑Person Partnership Leadership
Building and sustaining strong relationships with district and school partners is central to this role. Because our partners are implementing work in person, this role requires regular travel and on‑site engagement to build trust, support leaders, and advance partnerships.
Curiosity About Partner Contexts
Every school system is unique. Success in this role requires a deep curiosity about partner contexts and the ability to tailor implementation, support, and strategy to meet each district's instructional goals, leadership structures, and constraints.
Operational Excellence in a High‑Volume Portfolio
This role requires strong attention to detail across a high volume of work-from accurate CRM documentation and contract tracking to precise planning and execution of site visits, meetings, and deliverables.
Results‑and Impact‑Oriented Mindset
Supporting partners well means consistently tracking implementation progress, educator engagement, student outcomes, and renewal readiness. This role will need to use data to inform decisions, and understand how work contributes to both partner success and organizational growth.
Strong Follow‑Through and Accountability
This role will be expected to reliably deliver on commitments and timelines. Consistent follow‑through is essential to maintaining trust with partners who are themselves navigating complex, high‑demand roles.
Comfort with Ambiguity in a Growing Organization
Modern Classrooms Project is a growing organization. This role requires comfort with change, iteration, and evolving systems, as well as the ability to adapt quickly while continuing to move partnerships forward.
Confidence with Core Technology Tools
