Key Responsibilities:
Messaging & Content
Assist in shaping and refining brand messaging for campaigns, events, and digital channels.

Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience with marketing, social media, demand generation, and graphic design
Strong writing and messaging skills; comfortable creating content across channels.
Experience with multi-channel marketing approaches working together for a common goal.
Proficiency in Microsoft products, Canva, Photoshop, Premiere, or equivalent tools. Ability to create and edit short videos for blogs, VSL's, and other advertisements.

The Social Media & Content Student Assistant supports First-Generation Programs by creating and sharing content that promotes events, celebrates first-gen stories, and increases awareness of departmental initiatives. The Virginia Department of Forestry is seeking a Watershed Stewardship Specialist to implement watershed management efforts and VDOF conservation easement stewardship.

In conjunction with the Forestland Conservation Coordinator, the position will be jointly responsible for coordinating visits with easement landowners, documenting changes to easement properties, and providing landowners with support and information related to VDOF programs.

Minimum Qualifications
Experience or training in forest management practices, watershed management or related natural resources fields. Experience with or training in land stewardship/management, conservation easements, experience or training related to urban forestry and riparian buffer establishment. Knowledge of Virginia's Best Management Practices for Water Quality; experience/training using GPS units, strong communication skills, including experience compiling and submitting detailed reports; demonstrated experience working with diverse audiences, including landowners, community partners. etc., experience in community and/or landowner outreach. Proficient with using a PC and Microsoft Office software. Ability to support fire and other emergency response activities as needed; able to negotiate different types of forested terrain on foot; able to work overtime as required; able to bend, stoop, and reach to pull out files, etc.; able to work outdoors in all kinds of weather; able to work in environments with varying noise and light levels; and regular and reliable attendance required.

Responsibilities:
* Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude.
* Assist customers in locating products and making purchasing decisions.
* Promote and recommend store products to customers by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of current promotions, discounts, and new arrivals.
* Upsell and cross-sell items to increase store sales.
* Operate the cash register, handle cash, provide correct change, credit card payments and process sales transactions accurately and securely.
* Ensure the accuracy of sales records and balances at the end of each shift.
* Restock shelves, refrigerators, and displays as needed.
* Clean and sanitize the store, including aisles, counters, and bathrooms, to ensure a pleasant environment for customers.
* Assist in inventory control, including receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise.
* Report low stock levels to the store manager and assist with inventory counts.
* Monitor store for any security issues, theft, or suspicious activity.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of customers and staff.

* Follow directions from store managers and supervisors to support daily operations.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
* Must be able to stand extended periods (up to 8 hours) during shifts.
* Capable of lifting boxes and products, maximum 50 lbs., frequently 10-25 lbs., and carrying items across the store.
* Ability to bend, squat, and reach for products on shelves, both high and low. Ability to climb a ladder as needed.
* Must be able to walk throughout the store and between departments regularly.
* Ability to handle cash, operate registers, and bag items efficiently.
* Must be comfortable with repetitive tasks such as scanning items, restocking, and organizing products.
* Able to work in cold environments, including freezers and refrigerators, when restocking products.
* The role requires mental focus and stamina to perform physical tasks consistently and efficiently throughout the shift
* Seasonal snow removal, as needed.
