Your Opportunity as an Operations Management Intern
As an intern within our Operations Management team, you'll be a working part of our Plant Logistics team and understand how large-scale operations and logistics teams function in unison. You will have the opportunity to learn how our supply chain operates- from procurement of raw materials all the way through shipping finished goods out to customers. This internship will be a real-life display of not only manufacturing but will also get a front row seat to how all supply chain roles in the enterprise work together to meet the same end goal.

Work Arrangements: 100% On site
In this role you will:
Reconcile inventory transactions, file shipment documentation, and provide support in daily shipment activities.
Support audit requirements as needed by pulling documentation and assist with any corrective actions.
Act as single point of contact for setting daily dock appointments inbound raw materials.
Record raw material receipts in Oracle (purchasing) System as needed to ensure prompt payment.
Create and oversee process for central filing location of certificate of analysis documentation.
Assist the plant procurement team in reviewing daily Material Requirements Reports (MRP) and issuing purchase orders to replenish inventory.
Support an improvement project identified during the co-op term with a final report-out to leadership at the conclusion of the rotation.
Support Logistics team with special projects as needed.
Support Safety and Quality initiatives.
Exposure to many different supply chain and operations computer-based systems.

A Sophomore or higher with requisite educational experience in supply chain, logistics, warehousing, or another relevant field

The 10-week program provides qualified students with an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand commercial insurance underwriting experience, receive valuable on-the-job training, and learn more about the property and casualty insurance industry from industry professionals. It is a potential pathway to our 12-month Underwriting Professional Development Program (UPDP).

**What Will You Do?**
Within your assigned business unit, each intern will be given a designated coach and be expected to:
+ Complete core assignments and training modules geared toward insurance and underwriting principles.
+ Participate and complete self-paced professional development courses in time management, presentation skills, and other key areas.
+ Complete challenging and meaningful project work over the course of this program at the discretion of your manager. You may work independently or with other interns and will be asked to present your findings to local leadership. Sample projects include a territorial risk assessment to determine profitability and underwriting opportunities as well as a business process analysis to determine underwriting gaps.
+ Learn about other areas at Travelers such as Risk Control, Claims, and related Corporate functions. Interns may also engage in Agency visits with Account Executives.
+ Participate in the Enterprise Internship experience which includes Executive Speaker Series, Networking events, and Intern Symposium for Rising Seniors.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.

* Conduct pre-sale meeting with drivers identifying driver return routes, over flow areas, and other changes in the lane.
* Oversee lane coordination to maintain the continuous flow of traffic to the block. Direct traffic and work with supervisor to reassign drivers as needed to ensure smooth operational flow.
* Monitor traffic identifying potential traffic blockage and stalled vehicles.
* Direct drivers on vehicle assignments.
* Oversee parking sold vehicles and re-parking non-sold vehicles.
* Report theft, lot damage, or any safety concerns to management.
* Pull and maintain the keys for any unsafe vehicles and report to management immediately.
* Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.

Qualifications:
Minimum:
