What We're Looking For - Qualifications and Skills: A high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years' experience with proven success in a supervisory or leadership role in retail, finance, service, or related industries. Operations experience in a leadership capacity. This includes overseeing the store planogram and ensuring seasonal and/or promotional marketing material are displayed properly. Perform duties outside of the office, when applicable, including on site vehicle appraisals, store errands, and external marketing. Work efficiently in a rapidly changing and fast-paced environment and handle multiple challenging tasks with ease to meet individual and team performance standards. Conduct additional tasks as directed by leadership. Maintain a full-time work schedule with regular, in-person attendance, including weekends. The Production Shift Manager (Night Shift) plays a critical role in the day-to-day operations of our Distillery, Food Ingredient Operation and Warehouse ensuring safe and reliable operations. The Night Shift runs from 7:00pm - 7:00am. Required to work every other weekend and sometimes this includes holidays. Shift Managers provide leadership and guidance to hourly employees while coordinating with production managers on plant performance. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES & COMPETENCIES 1. Directly manage crews of 10-15 hourly employees to achieve maximum production of top quality products in a safe and efficient manner. Indirectly responsible for managing up to 40-50 employees at any given time. 2. Must plan and organize daily shift activities, determining manpower requirements and manpower utilization necessary to meet and/or exceed desired goals. Responsible for scheduling of hourly employees. 3. Conduct annual detailed performance reviews with hourly employees to emphasize the required standards for the various jobs. Performance reviews will be written and maintained in the employee's personnel file. Counsel subordinates. 4. Set objectives for crew. Communicate company plans, objectives and expectations to hourly employees. Issue instruction and directions and make sure resources are available to accomplish them. Must have good communication skills. Ability to achieve results through others. 5. Train Management and hourly Employees on equipment; equipment operation and process. 6. Accountable for continuous improvement of plant performance, safety, environmental and product quality objectives. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 1. Lifting up to 50 lbs to shoulder height occasionally 2. Physical mobility: extensive walking, climbing, stairs, kneeling, stooping, sitting up to 100% of working hours 3. Standing for extended periods of time. Occasionally needs to stand for long periods, up to 6 hours 4. Physical dexterity: telephone, computer, electronic equipment, tools, machinery. Use of phone, fax, computer, and mechanical tools that require precision (welding, cutting, wrenches, lathes, etc.) 5. Occasional Driving of a vehicle 6. Sensory requirements: hearing, listening, smelling, touching, speaking, tasting, seeing, distinguishing colors up to 100% of working hours 7. Stationary working at a computer terminal or keyboard up to 6 hours per day 8. May be exposed to high heat and cold up to 100% of working hours. QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS 1. Associate's Degree with concentration in manufacturing preferred. Equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment or a similar environment will be considered. Significant Distillery and/or Food Processing operations experience preferred. 2. 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required. 3. Experience with SEMS, Process Safety Management and ERP/SAP preferred. 4. Strong leadership, coaching and interpersonal skills 5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 6. Personal computer skills including Microsoft Office; Ability to learn company specific software programs 7.
