Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Contributes to production tasks on a regular basis to meet daily goals. Oversees production areas for overall shift in Supervisor's absence and reports any production issues to Supervisors and/or Value Stream Management as needed for assistance. Reviews throughout the shift all day by the hour sheets, production and/or materials issues and provides status information to the Supervisor and takes action to keep on schedule. Understands item numbers and OSK information to ensure proper assembly was performed. Works with Supervisor, Group Leaders, and other team members in directing employees in their daily job requirements to maintain quality and OTS goals following the Standard Work. Utilizes LDM boards to capture and highlight wins/challenges and escalates to the Value Stream Board as needed. Works proactively to identify productivity and process yield issues and takes appropriate action to resolve them. Trains, cross trains and works to Standard Work procedures where available; contributes to developing standard work where needed Helps all employees understand Omega policies and procedures and brings issues to area supervisor if there are concerns or violations. Uses SyteLine and other methods as needed to monitor and track open demand, output and materials. Holds daily huddles for shift hand offs to maintain communication on machine/cell performance with each work cell within area of responsibility, review daily plan and provide any information updates. Fills in for other group leaders when needed, must be aware of support needed in all area processes. Follows the Leader Standard Work database tracking for all Group Leads and achieves a weekly goal as given by the Production Supervisor. Communicates with maintenance and engineering support as needed, is proactive with assessing and communicating future requirements for the area. Coordinates with manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and other support functions to resolve Key Performance Indicators (KPI) concerns within the cell. Participates and leads change in all operational improvement activities. Prioritizes practice of 6S safety and housekeeping policies throughout all areas. Ensures proper PPE equipment is available and being used when required. Conduct end of shift staff and building security checks. Requirements Abilities/Skills Required: Must practice good communication skills and have the ability to understand verbal and written instruction from various sources Ability to lead, direct work of, and train others. Must be a good team player and have ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds. Ability to learn and understand dimensions on drawings. Skills in mathematics to calculate dimensions and understand inventory levels. Must have a working understanding of computers and be able to demonstrate ability to learn. Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time. Ability to shift priorities quickly and handle interruptions to support operators. Minimum Educational/Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. 3+ years in a manufacturing/production environment. Preferred Requirements: Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.     MELE is seeking a site lead to support the Mobile Detection Deployment Program (MDDP)/Mobile Detection Deployment Unit (MDDU) program. The program is growing into the full spectrum of CBRN detection, however the emphasis of this support is focused on radiological/nuclear detection operations and instrumentation. The nature of the MDDU force will be voluntary and managed on a rotational basis for scheduled events and short notice requested to deploy. The site lead for the program reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for providing operational and program support. This position will be the lead personnel for their specific location and responsible for successful completion of all tasks as designated by the Program Manager. This position will be an asset designed to supplement Federal and State partners' and first responders' existing CBRN detection and reporting capabilities in support of national and other special security events. Deployment without advance notification may be required. This position must have experience with radiological/nuclear detection instrumentation. This position is contract award dependent. RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include but are not limited to the following. Initiate, organize and report on all program planning and management taskings. Ability to deploy equipment when needed. This requires transporting detection equipment via towable trailer to various locations as designated by the client. Coordinate, initiate and track the progress of deployments of the assigned equipment. Ensuring detection equipment is repaired, calibrated, and maintained in a ready state for deployment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. Provide coverage during standard and non-standard hours of business to include weekends and Holidays when necessary.
