Document and track support requests, resolutions, and procedures in the ticketing system. Collaborate with the IT team to improve system performance and reliability. Assist in maintaining camera hardware inventory, ensuring all assets are properly repaired, tracked and updated. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to provide effective solutions. Contribute to knowledge base articles and self-help documentation for end-users. Qualifications: Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience) Experience: 1-3 years of technical and/or customer support or IT help desk experience preferred. Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting operating systems (Windows, mac OS), Microsoft Office Suite, remote desktop tools, and networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN).     The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a highly skilled individual in digital accessibility in course materials to help not only comply with Title II requirements but promote Universal Design for Learning principles throughout the university. Working in the Office of Learning Technologies within the Center for Teaching and Learning, the specialist will lead the office's efforts to assist faculty and academic units with ensuring course materials are fully accessible as well as provide training on best practices. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Functions as the secondary administrator of the Canvas-embedded tool for auditing online courses for accessibility issues. * Monitors course audits. * Keeps the Director informed of progress and issues in the effort to assure accessible course material campus wide. * Assists academic unit leaders in keeping track of compliance rates and issues in their unit. * Meets with individual faculty to resolve course accessibility issues as needed. * Keeps current with accessibility laws and standards. * Assists in maintaining a knowledge base on accessibility tools and methods for creating and remediating accessible course materials * Works on individual courses and course materials for accessibility remediation as needed. * Helps lead graduate student assistants in remediating course materials. * Perform other duties as assigned. (Salary commensurate with experience) Bachelor's degree in Education, Computer Science, Disability Services, or a related field and two (2) years of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital materials and general support services for people with disabilities. Advanced computer skills and familiarity with a range of software tools for creating and remediating digital course materials. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to lead workshops for faculty. Experience with learning management systems. Experience with Canvas a plus. This is a full-time, one-year temporary appointment funded for the initial term, with potential for renewal based on program priorities and available funding.
