Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair baggage printers

Minimum Qualifications
1+ year of hands-on IT experience
Proven experience in technical support or IT support roles

Pay is based solely on the number of calls completed.
Pay is $50 per call
Pay period: Every Friday after the first week worked
Tickets are run Monday-Friday during the day shift. Candidates must be regularly available a minimum of 3 weekdays to be considered.
Call volume is variable but is usually 2-5 calls per day
You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.
You must have a reliable form of transportation and a valid driver's license to run these calls. You will be visiting multiple work sites throughout your day.
You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.
You must be available to log into your tech portal each morning you are working by 9 am to code your calls and map out your route for the day.
The manufacturer has completed troubleshooting and shipped a part prior to your ticket being issued to you.
You will confirm service times with the customer in your tech portal. Services will be completed at the customer site (residential and commercial)
You will pick up parts daily from the assigned Fed Ex or UPS store for your territory before going onsite. Once all calls are completed for the day drop off the old parts with the pre-paid label that is provided.

The project aims to characterize the dwarf galaxy population in the Coma Cluster and explore the formation mechanisms of UCDs. The position will be based at the Gemini North Observatory in Hilo, Hawaii, with collaboration and mentorship from team members in Tucson and other locations. Introduction:
The Center for Excellence in Learning, Teaching, and Technology (CELTT) is responsible for planning, developing, and delivering high-quality computing and media resources and services for student learning, administrative operations, faculty and staff development, and delivery of instruction and services. The primary purpose of this position is to support video production services and computer tech support.
Duties and Responsibilities:

* Oversees management and directs the operation of the Center's digital media assets for the campus, including but not limited to: closed captioning system, video production, informational production and delivery, and consultation.
* Under general supervision, initiates changes to department policies and standard operating procedures to achieve the most efficient and economical service as related to primary areas of responsibility.
* Reviews, analyzes, and modifies policies and procedures in the areas of closed captioning and technical support to ensure optimum efficiency and service to clients.
* Coordinates scheduling of productions and production staff. Supervises others involved in productions such as Media Specialists, Educational Specialists, student assistants, and interns. Serves as Production Manager and Digital Systems Specialist under the direction of the CELTT Coordinator.
* Evaluates A/V needs and requirements, installs and supports end users in use.
* Produces videos for cable that are informational and for class content. This includes highlighting campus programs and events that can be viewed online and on cable.
* Setups, maintains, and administers department video conferencing systems and systems that are part of the UH System conferencing network, e.g., HITS, Zoom, polystudio, etc.
* Knowledge of Mac and PC computer systems, setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Mac and PC computer systems.
* Performs equipment troubleshooting, maintenance, replacement, repair, and upgrades on professional broadcast and production equipment.
* Monitors and participates in responding to any, including complex and in-depth digital media-related queries and concerns that come via email, phone, or in-person from faculty, staff, other institutions, and community members.
* Evaluates new technologies for application in digital-media production
* Researches and consults with faculty on new technologies, and makes recommendations.
* Makes thoughtful and informed recommendations to the College regarding the procurement of equipment.
* Troubleshoots software problems as needed.
* Advises individuals and groups having diverse viewpoints and opinions on digital media content and management, and recommend the most appropriate, effective, and efficient solution. Advise and train staff and end users of those systems and resources for which this position is responsible.

Minimum Qualifications
* Possession of a pertinent baccalaureate educational degree in communications, information technology, educational technology, or related field and 3 years of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for mixed multimedia production including video, audio, and animation and the specification for asset management and online interactivity, of which 2 years of the experience must have been comparable in scope and complexity to the next lower payband in the University of Hawai'i broadband system; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.

Gemini North/NOIRLab is seeking a Research Intern (undergraduate student or recent graduate) to work with Dr. Kristin Chiboucas on the analysis of JWST NIRCAM and NIRISS imaging data of the Coma Cluster. This internship is expected to last for 3-4 months and offers the opportunity to contribute to an international collaborative project focused on understanding dwarf galaxies and ultracompact dwarf galaxies (UCDs) in a rich cluster environment.
The intern will perform two-dimensional surface brightness profile fitting using tools such as GALFIT, helping to derive sizes, shapes, and luminosities of galaxies and UCD candidates. The project aims to characterize the dwarf galaxy population in the Coma Cluster and explore the formation mechanisms of UCDs. The position will be based at the Gemini North Observatory in Hilo, Hawaii, with collaboration and mentorship from team members in Tucson and other locations.
Essential Functions:
* Perform analysis of JWST imaging data to identify and characterize galaxies and UCD candidates.
* Use GALFIT and other software to derive structural parameters of galaxies.
* Assist in the interpretation of derived data to identify UCDs and understand their distribution and origins.
