Job Responsibilities
Prepares, edits and proofreads a variety of documents (correspondence, memos, emails, agreements and corporate resolutions/minutes)
Establishes and maintains contract templates
Organizes and compiles real estate transaction closing documents
Assists with preparation of presentation materials (PowerPoint and physical materials)
Assists the construction management team with record keeping and project organization
Creates, organizes and maintains electronic and physical files
Manages legal transaction and construction calendars
Schedules meetings and arranges travel for General Counsel and Construction Directors
Assists with compliance projects, particularly with regulatory agencies and departments such as Planning and Zoning, Building Department, and City and County Commissioners and staff
Coordinates with outside counsel on legal project management
Coordinates with General Contractors on various construction projects
Assists with invoice tracking and preparation of lender required documentation for construction draws
Qualifications
Associate's Degree or higher as Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal
10+ years' experience as Legal Administrative Assistant or Paralegal

Regulatory responses
Prepare response to audit requests and subpoenas to regulatory agencies
QDRO processing
Prepare responses to Qualified Domestic Relations Orders to participants and attorneys
Legal Retirement Plan Document Drafting
Demonstrate a functional knowledge of Ascensus retirement plan documents
Abandoned Plans
Assist with the determination and processing of abandoned plans
Forms
Demonstrate a functional knowledge of Ascensus retirement plan forms and notices
Employer Level QRP Document Drafting
Complete employer level qualified retirement plan documents
Fee-for-Service Engagements
Assist with fee-for-service engagements including IRS and DOL Correction Programs, Controlled Group Determinations and IRS Determination Letter Filings
Industry Knowledge
Demonstrate basic knowledge of the retirement plans industry including the applicable regulatory agencies (e.g., DOL and IRS)
Continuing Education
Enhance technical and industry knowledge by attending continuing education classes
SLAs
Meet department service level standards
Perform other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
Degrees
Associate degree in paralegal studies
Certification from the National Association of Legal Assistants (NALA) or the American Alliance Certified Paralegal (AACP) credential offered by the American Alliance of Paralegals, Inc.

The national average salary range for this role is $65-75k in base pay, exclusive of any bonuses and benefits. This base salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salary offered will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, performance, and internal pay alignment. We do not anticipate that candidates hired will begin at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis. Our internship opportunities offer bright, highly motivated law school students and recent graduates a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the operations of state government while obtaining valuable on-the-job training.
Law clerks will work on a broad range of assignments, including both transactional and litigation-related work. General duties include legal research and writing, discovery, and trial/hearing preparation. The ideal candidate would be a first, second- or third-year law student, possessing excellent research and writing skills, the ability to work efficiently and independently with a moderate amount of supervision, and excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is an ideal internship opportunity for those interested in public service after graduation or in fields related to administrative law, litigation or contracts.

Minimum Qualifications:
