We are looking for an experienced Clerk Page/Telephone Operator with at least 1 + years of experience. Customer service experience is a must, preferable in a hospital environment. This position is an evening shift, weekends and holidays included. This is an onsite position in NYC and requires time flexibility. Work week includes working every weekend and holidays. Shift is 2PM-10PM.
Responsibilities
Operate Spok PC workstation to receive, direct and place internal and external calls to office
Initiate page calls through paging local and long-range page systems to contact medical staff
Respond to all emergency calls such as: Medical Emergency, Fire Emergency, Bomb Threats, Active Shooter, and other disasters
Follow departmental procedures
Document all emergencies for reporting to the Emergency Preparedness Committee
Enter schedules through the computerized Spok system for use by evening, night, and weekend staff
Transfer information to the Web site to be used by all hospital medical employees
Learn the medical terminology for the various on call schedules after hours, handle patient calls after hours, connect to on call covering doctors by service
Enter updated on call information from Doctors Answering Service into the computerized Spok System for use by evening, night and weekend staff.
Respond to TTY unit (hearing impaired) and language translators when necessary
Must work evening shift including all weekends and holidays
Skills & Experience

Job Summary

Telephone Operations

Performance Expectations:

Program updates to the Zetron paging system as needed.

Emergency Support

· Re-schedule all “No Show” appointments daily.

· Collect co-payments, and prepare deposits for finance.
