KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Internal Service: Recruits, selects, trains, develops, and evaluates restaurant employees. External Service: Manages daily activities to achieve excellence in restaurant operational Ensures guests receive an exceptional experience by properly training employees and holding the restaurant team accountable for consistently delivering excellent guest service and food quality. Monitors adherence with all JIB systems, procedures, and food safety requirements; reviews practices and modifies as needed to continuously improve the guest experience. Maintains visibility and interaction with guests; responds to guest concerns and complaints in a timely and professional manner, and ensures positive resolution. Maintains a positive brand image by ensuring consistent food quality, guest service, and restaurant cleanliness & maintenance. Serves as a role model for excellent guest service.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education - High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience - Internal Promote: Minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Shift Leader or 1 year experience as an AssistantManager in a customer service environment; must be 100% certified in all workstations. External Recruit: Minimum of 3 years of experience as an AssistantManager with some P&L responsibility.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be at least 18 years old; must complete AssistantManager training classes; must be ServSafe certified. Requires ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English; excellent interpersonal skills; ability to perform and understand basic math concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division); proven analytical skills; and good organization and planning skills. The Role:
The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the food quality, service standards, and culinary execution, within Student Union Dining Operations. This role actively supervises daily kitchen and front of house operations, ensures proper food preparation, presentation, and safe handling in high-volume campus dining environments. The Food Service Supervisor coordinates and supports multiple service periods or events simultaneously, maintaining smooth workflow and exceptional guest service. This position is responsible for training and guiding student employees and staff in station setup, sanitation practices, efficient service execution, recipe adherence, and culinary techniques. Operations & Customer Service:
* Assigns tasks and monitors daily operations according to established guidelines, procedures, and policies.
* Ensures employees have necessary resources, including ingredients, equipment, and tools for proper food preparation and service.

Minimum Qualifications
* Leadership experience performing such duties as hands-on training and working with teams.
* Supervisory-level experience in menu execution, including overseeing food preparation, and ensuring adherence to allergen, dietary, and nutritional standards.
* 2 years of experience working in a large commercial/institutional or hotel type kitchen settings.
* Demonstrated ability and/or experience working collaboratively with students and/or colleagues to foster a supportive and effective learning and work environment.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule
Salary: This position is based on the range 41 of the Washington State Classification Listing, which has a minimum annual salary of $43,980 and maximum annual salary of $58,584. In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Working Conditions: Work is performed primarily indoors, at times in hot/cold/noisy/wet areas with some exposure to hazardous equipment and products. Working in temperatures from 0 degrees (freezer) to 350+ degrees (around cooking equipment) is common. Work requires walking and standing (often in a stationary position) for the majority of each shift. Bending/climbing/carrying/pulling/pushing/lifting associated with loading/unloading of supplies and preparation, plating and serving of food is required. Occasional overtime is required, and shift work may be required.
