What is our HERizon Program?

Program participants will gain exposure to real-life consulting through dedicated mentorship, informational sessions with the Roland Berger team, and a hands-on case challenge. Our HERizon program will run from March 2026 through June 2026 and is comprised of three main elements:
Training & Development - learn more about consulting and Roland Berger, as well as develop key consulting and interviewing skills through dedicated mentorship, support from experienced consultants, and informational sessions
Hands-On Case Challenge - get hands-on case solving experience through personalized mentorship from the Roland Berger team, while collaborating with fellow program participants to tackle the case and prepare a final presentation
In-Person Celebration Event in April 2026 - culmination of the case challenge to share final presentations with Roland Berger leadership, followed by an in-person celebration with Roland Berger team members and program participants
At the end of our HERizon program, all program participants will be guaranteed a first round-interview in June 2026 to interview for our 2027 summer internship program.

You will work closely with IT teams and other departments to support data-driven decision-making and ensure the availability and reliability of our critical healthcare systems.
You will be part of a team that is responsible for providing compute resources across the institution, which includes Enterprise Storage, Server Virtualization, Active Directory, Citrix, M365 workloads, Cloud Resources (Azure and AWS), Enterprise Printing, and Enterprise backups.
Design, install, configure, and maintain SQL Servers (default, named & clustered instances) SQL Server 2012 to 2022.
Experience upgrading and migrating SQL instances (in-place & separate server scenarios).
Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to optimize performance, using Extended Events, DMVs, Performance & Activity Monitor, SQL Profiler, etc.
Experience with High Availability & Disaster Recovery technologies, methods & best practices (TL Shipping, Availability Groups, etc.
).
Implement backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity.
Collaborate with developers to create and maintain database schemas, stored procedures, custom SQL jobs, ETL processes, linked servers, etc.
Ensure compliance with data security standards and regulations in the healthcare sector.
Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including updates and patches, ad-hoc backups & restores, granting access via AD Groups, Windows & SQL logins to various SQL Servers & their databases Proficient in automating tasks \ solutions, PowerShell, T-SQL, DBATools, etc.
Assist in data migration and integration projects as needed.
Develop and maintain documentation for database systems and procedures.
Provide support and training to end-users as necessary.
On-Call duty.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:Proven experience as a SQL Database Administrator, preferably in a healthcare environment.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server, including performance tuning and query optimization.
Experience with database backup and recovery procedures.
Familiarity with healthcare regulations (e.
g.
, HIPAA) and data privacy standards.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
