    This role oversees and coordinates the shipment of materials, both outbound and inbound, on a daily basis. The Shipping Supervisor ensures communication between shifts as well as communication with other departments on shipping status, inventory updates, and shipping metrics. The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the on-time and in full shipping of sales orders. This role will work with HR to maintain accurate staffing levels for the shipping team on all shifts. The Shipping Supervisor has day to day oversight of the Shipping Team and Shipping warehouse. Duties & Responsibilities: Ensures sales orders and picking tickets are printed and distributed to shipping department. Monitors shipping schedule and takes corrective actions to ensure on time and in full shipments for all sales orders. Backs up to Logistics Coordinators and Shipping Lead as needed. Communicates in both Spanish and English with second-shift and third-shift staff on a daily basis. Compile freight costs into excel spreadsheets for purposes of reviewing freight costs by customer and carrier with management. Work with planning and production departments to ensure schedules are being met to ensure all product groups are shipping on time. Effectively supervise the Shipping production teammates in our union facility. This includes interviewing and onboarding new teammates, teammate reviews and scheduling, establishing cross-training in the different areas of the shipping function, holding teammates accountable and working with HR to implement disciplinary action as needed. Ensures the shipping teammates are properly trained in the jobs they are signed off in and that the shipping team is following the correct process, procedures and methods as well as following all company rules to work in a safe manner at all times. Ensures scanning equipment/ERP is being used correctly on daily basis and that shipping/receiving scans are correct in the ERP system. Ensures shipping team is completing paperwork correctly and is following the proper processes for paperwork. Monitors ADP daily to approve paid time off, update and approve timecards, and record attendance per company policy. Responsible for improving Shipping department for efficiency and effectiveness. Responsible for 5S of the shipping area and ensuring shipping staff is keeping warehouse at an acceptable level of cleanliness and organized by 5S standards. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
