The Assembly Department Supervisor is responsible for supervising the assembly crew and ensuring product coordination to meet customer expectations for quality and delivery. As the Supervisor, you will oversee the efficient and effective operation of their department in production. By coordinating staff, monitoring processes, and analyzing data, the supervisor ensures production goals are met while maintaining quality standards and compliance. The supervisor's role is critical in driving continuous improvement to boost productivity and support the overall success of the organization.
This position is a salaried position. It is for our second shift which operates Monday-Friday from 2:00pm-10:00pm.

What will your typical day look like?
* Responsible for effectively communicating with the Site Operations Lead and other affected departments if ship dates cannot be met or delays occur for other departments.

* Train, evaluate, and monitor personnel.
* Responsible for department personnel as it relates to disciplinary actions, terminations, organization, attendance, schedules or hiring.
* Maintain and correct employee time on database systems.

* Effectively communicate with all shifts and departments to ensure smooth workflow.

* Ensure header plate area is maintaining workflow and filing proper report.
* Organize OT when needed.
* Assist in other areas of production as needed and qualified.
* Perform work in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
* Domestic and international travel required and could include weekend travel depending on the project.
* Perform related work or job duties as required by Manager.
* Ensure back-up supervisor is knowledgeable to take over as needed.
* May be required to attend safety meetings in representative's absence.

The salary range for this role is between $60,700.00 - $106,200.00 USD Annual. Operate large-capacity AR coating machines. Perform daily and weekly maintenance of the vacuum coating chambers and equipment involved in the AR coating process. Keep a current and accurate log of all processes and maintenance for the machines.
Perform all aspects of operation of the AR Coaters, including:
Clean machine and make ready for operation.
Inspect each lens for accuracy and any other defects present on lens surface. Log all scratches or other conditions found.
Place lenses into appropriate tooling based on lens diameter and shape.
Load lenses into AR coating machine and select correct recipe and chemicals for each different AR coating process.
Perform all necessary parts change-outs and other maintenance items in a timely manner.
Perform necessary quality testing on finished product.
Perform final inspection on all batch coated lenses and ensure adherence to the cosmetic standards. Verify performance of coating runs and ensure coating meets desired specification.
Perform troubleshooting of machine/equipment problems and work with supervisor to resolve issues.
Pack completed work.
Review rejected lenses and re-work or assign proper breakage codes.
Sandblast machine parts as needed.
Follow standard procedures while continually evaluating opportunities for improvement. Provide recommendations to improve processes to simplify jobs, eliminate non-value-added tasks and reduce costs.
Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure understanding and the proper application of company policies, practices and procedures.
