Perform critical operations to keep facility running such as loading/unloading trucks and railcars

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Willingness to work extended hours and weekends when needed
Willingness to work various weather elements including cold, heat, wind, rain, etc
Ability to frequently stand and/or walk for extended periods of time
Ability to frequently lift and/or carry heavy objects no more than 50 pounds
Outstanding Organizational and Time-Management Skills
Excellent Communication Skills
Respectable Mechanical Skills

Core Responsibilities
Production employees at Smithfield handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to America's dinner table. Production team members at Smithfield perform physically demanding work that requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength and stamina. Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.
Qualifications

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking General Laborer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of manual tasks to support operations across construction, warehouse, manufacturing, or maintenance environments. This is a hands-on role that requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions closely.
Key Responsibilities:
Load and unload materials and equipment manually or with basic equipment (e.g., pallet jacks)
Assist skilled workers such as carpenters, warehouse staff, machine operators, or technicians
Clean and prepare work areas, including removing debris and hazardous materials
Operate hand tools and power tools as directed
Follow safety guidelines and use proper protective equipment
Sort, pack, label, and organize inventory or materials
Perform basic assembly or disassembly of components and equipment
Support shipping, receiving, and inventory control activities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of job sites or work areas
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leads
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous general labor or warehouse/construction experience is a plus
Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical labor for extended periods
Willingness to work in a variety of environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold conditions)
Basic math and communication skills
