Job Overview
An Associate Lab Administrator is an entry level Lab Admin position. An Associate Lab Admin is responsible for the closures of trouble tickets (Issues) submitted by various individuals throughout the company. Associate Lab Admins are expected to ask questions and learn how the various labs work, as well as the equipment within the lab. Tasks required of the candidate can include but are not limited to learning how to perform the following duties:
Physical de-racking, moving, and re-racking of network equipment within or between labs
Documentation of installs/de-installs/reinstalls
Receiving of new inventory
Installation of network and/or computer equipment
Adding new devices to our database system
Building and changing topologies, and documenting the changes
Troubleshooting hardware/software issues on installed equipment
Pre-requisites for this job are the following:
Experience working in Data Centers
Knowledge of TCP/IP terms (CIDR, router, gateway, IP, DNS, etc)
Good troubleshooting instincts
Highly Helpful Skills
Basic UNIX skills
All Junior Lab Administrators are also responsible for keeping a safe, clean, and productive lab environment, which will require manual tasks such as removal of old cable from racks and the auditing and fixing of areas in the lab that have fallen from policy standards.
Compensation
