Department/Unit: Pathology Hospital Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $95,182.78 - $152,292.45 The Pathologists' Assistant Lead will contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine by performing a variety of tasks related to the gross and frozen section rooms. As the Pathologists' Assistant Lead, s(he) will have operational oversight of the gross room including all staff and trainees working in this area. Main responsibilities include but not limited to: gross examination and prosection of surgical pathology specimens, supervision and training of the Residents, Pathologist Assistants and Histotechnologists in gross examination and prosection, gross photography and archiving, tissue banking and intraoperative frozen section consultation. As the supervisor of the gross and frozen section rooms, s(he) will manage the day-to-day operations of each area based on patient care needs, and regulatory and quality standards. S(he) will serve as the point person for implementation of new technology in the gross room and ensure the gross room is continually clean, in order and well-supplied for optimal operation.
The Pathologist Assistant has expertise and leadership in these areas. This position requires the exercise of independent judgment and responsibility for technical and administrative decisions in collaboration with the laboratory director(s), AP manager and supervisors of other anatomic pathology laboratories. Other critical aspects include project management, budget development and maintenance; and management of supplies and resources. The Pathologist Assistant Lead is responsible for the policies and procedures that govern the these area.
The Lead Pathologist Assistant has management responsibility for other Pathologist Assistants. In this capacity the Lead Pathologist Assistant is responsible for hiring, orientation, training and competency assessment of the other Pathologist Assistants as well as day-to-day supervision of their activities. In addition, s(he) is responsible for the training, orientation and competence assessment of the Residents and Histotechnologists in gross examination and prosection.
The Pathologists' Assistant, under the direction and supervision of a pathologist, can assist in all aspects of anatomic pathology, participates in seminars, provides instruction for Residents, medical students and departmental staff concerning technique and protocol in
autopsy
and surgical pathology. Pathologists' Assistants can do all work leading up to but not including diagnosis. They are qualified to do complex surgical resections (pelvic exenterations, whipple procedures, etc.)
and autopsies including gross, PAD/FAD

and clinical summary.

COMPENSATION RANGE: $85K-$120K+ based on experience

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare a complete financial statement monthly according to dealership guidelines and deadlines
Hire, supervise and provide continuous training for cashiers, title clerks, bookkeepers and payables staff
Review accuracy of all posted transactions including but not limited to bank deposits, vehicle deals, commissions, payables and receivables, rebates, floor plan, warranty claims and advertising
Review all schedules and perform multiple reconciliations weekly and monthly
Analyze and organize office operations and procedures ensuring compliance with all regulations
Prepare and file all tax returns and payments adhering to strict deadlines
Compile information and prepare reports as requested by management and/or dealer principal
Assist in completion of all annual reviews and audits
Ability to effectively communicate in a professional and knowledgeable manner with multiple department managers and staff
Attend manager meetings as requested
Any other duties as assigned

RESPONSIBILITIES
Executes, posts and reconciles all vehicle billing/costing/commission
DMV and Titles
Responsible for designated schedules to be submitted to controller by 25th of month as per Schedule listing
Verifying lien payoffs at the time deals are posted
Posting daily funding notices
Timely costing of deals including verification of commissions as well as funding/DMV completed
All charge-backs are recorded with timely follow-up.
Accounting functions to include, but not limited to: Dealer Swaps, Stocking of inventory, tracking of all invoices and receivables to ensure timeliness and efficiency, floor plan audit, etc.
Responsible for office duties, distribution and time management for office personnel
Additional assignments as needed.
