OVERVIEW

Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities. Assist in the retention and training efforts of staff and of customers. Conduct meetings with staff to assess group's overall status, discuss ideas for improvement and inform staff of new developments. Address all employee performance problems promptly and directly in accordance with personnel policies.
Oversee performance statistics. Review and monitor shipment documentation for accuracy. Examine various documents including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping statements to ensure compliance with federal and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products.
Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise exported/imported to and from foreign destinations. Communicate with customs officials as appropriate to obtain release of incoming freight and resolve delays.
Establish, monitor, and revise policies, procedures and service standard for customs clearance operations as dictated and allowed by applicable regulations. Ensure all policies and procedures are consistently administered.
Identify areas of concern in clients' import and export processes through monitoring of team performance against company and client standards, regular audit of shipment documents and accounting, and periodic client reviews.
Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and problems or issues. Maintain flexible work schedule include outside normal business hours and after hours on call rotation.
Effectively participate in and/or supervise department projects related to assigned area of responsibility.

About the Role
Our Tempe, AZ Foundry is seeking a night shift Lead Supervisor of Melting and Pouring. The role is responsible for overseeing safe, efficient, and consistent operations of Electric Arc Furnaces (EAF) in a steel and iron foundry environment. This role provides direct leadership to furnace operators and support personnel, ensuring production targets, quality requirements, and safety standards are met. The Lead Supervisor serves as the technical and operational authority on shift and drives continuous improvement in melt practices, energy efficiency, and metallurgical control.
Responsibilities
Promote a strong safety culture with visible leadership on the melt deck and in the pour bay.
Lead and enforce all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Conduct safety audits and job safety analyses and implement corrective actions.
Oversee shift EAF operations including charge makeup, melt schedules, tap timing, alloy additions, slag practices, and temperature control.
Ensure meeting of production schedules, yield targets, and delivery commitments.
Monitor furnace performance metrics.
Troubleshoot process upsets and lead recovery actions to minimize downtime.
Ensure compliance with melt chemistry specifications and metallurgical practices.
Review heat data, spectrometer results, and trend reports to drive process stability.
Provide direct leadership, coaching, and mentoring to furnace operators and support staff.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, cost, energy efficiency, productivity, and quality.
Utilize data and KPIs to drive fact-based decision making.
Qualifications
Minimum 7-10 years of foundry supervision experience preferably with Electric Arc Furnaces.
Strong working knowledge of EAF operations, metallurgy, charge materials, alloys, and slag.
Proven ability to lead teams in a high-temperature, industrial environment.
Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies.
Familiarity with energy management, electrode optimization, and refractory life management.
Ability to work in a heavy industrial environment with exposure to heat, noise, and molten metal.
Ability to work extended shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

The Manufacturing Supervisor leads day-to-day production operations, ensuring manufacturing activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with cGMP and internal SOPs. This is a hands-on leadership role supporting technicians and operators in a fast-paced GMP environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Supervise and coordinate daily manufacturing activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
• Lead, train, and mentor manufacturing technicians and operators.
• Ensure strict compliance with cGMP, SOPs, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor production performance, resolve operational issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to support smooth operations.
• Review batch records, deviations, and corrective actions in collaboration with QA.

Qualifications
Required:
• 3-7 years of experience in pharmaceutical or regulated manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of cGMP, production processes, and documentation.
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Engineering, Science, or related field.
• Prior supervisory or team-lead experience.

Primary Responsibilities
Leads and supervises people and assembly activities to achieve established production goals consistent with standards of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 1:45 PM - 11:45 PM
Plans daily operations, including balancing the assembly line manpower based on best utilization of skills, work flow, ergonomics, and quality processes.
Ensures the consistent use of safety devices and personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintains constant alert for hazardous conditions and practices.
Participates in and facilitates 6S activities in responsible areas; drives safety ideas and improvements.
Develop and train operators along with technician and engineer support to ensure quality job performance. Facilitates cross-training in multiple work stations to develop diverse work force.
Monitors and drives quality measures and implements continuous improvement efforts.
Key member of the Assembly Business Unit that collaborates and implements various projects focused on continuous improvement, cost reduction, productivity and efficiency.
Supervisor responsibilities consist of but not limited to:
Material planning
Manpower operations planning
Downtime report outs
Participation in leading continuous improvement projects
Facilitating and leading new product development trials
Participates in and coordinates programs related to employee communications, placement, training and development, orientation, quality, etc.
Promotes positive employee relations through daily, open, and direct communications.
Ensures conformance with Company policies, practices and work rules related to attendance, performance, etc.
Other duties as assigned.

What You Will Do
Empower, mentor, and coach 8-10 machinists and support staff to achieve personal and team performance goals.
Partner with Quality and Maintenance to troubleshoot issues, reduce scrap rates, and ensure on-time delivery.
Implement lean manufacturing principles (5S, Kaizen events, visual management) to boost throughput and reduce waste.
Analyze nightly production metrics, identify trends, and lead corrective action plans.
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing plant safety standards, conducting regular audits, and facilitating toolbox talks.
Coordinate with Engineering to validate new tooling, fixtures, and machining processes.
Prepare shift-end reports and communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) to 1 st , 2 nd & 3 rd shift supervisors.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years' machine shop experience, including 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
Hands-on knowledge of CNC and manual machining processes (mills, lathes, grinders).
Strong working knowledge of blueprints, GD&T, and basic metrology instruments (calipers, micrometers).
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to build rapport with a diverse workforce.
What Will Put You Ahead
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) for production planning and reporting.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software (Mastercam, SolidWorks).
Prior success driving continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume environment.
OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
