General Purpose
The successful candidate in this position will provide professional accounting services utilizing appropriate accounting principles. Activities may include preparation and review of: journal entries and account reconciliations; work papers and other schedules; internal/external financial statements; management reports and analysis of financial, tax and/or economic data.
Responsibilities
• Compile data, analyze, review and interpret financial results; including balance sheets and statements of operations. and statements of cash flows.
• Research retail invoicing and reconcile to the general ledger.
• Prepare bad debt analysis
• Prepare unbilled retail analysis
• Process transmission deposit refunds
• Reconcile transmission balance sheet accounts
• Prepare journal entries
• Compile, analyze and interpret data in preparation and/or review of PacifiCorp's annual and quarterly reports filed with the FERC, including compilation of the FERC financial statements and review of consolidating entries for the FERC.
• Compile, analyze and interpret data in preparation of PacifiCorp's annual and quarterly reports filed with the SEC and the company's state regulatory commissions.
• Research & interpret accounting and taxation rules including policies issued by governmental and regulatory bodies.
• Perform analytical and reporting tasks: gather information from other departments, interface with various levels of management and prepare and/or review of supporting work papers in a manner conducive to achieving compliance with our internal controls and procedures.
• Test and review accounting transactions for accuracy of entry and classification.
• Perform ad hoc reporting, including drafting of responses to data requests from state regulatory commissions, external auditors, other regulatory bodies and other internal requests.
• Notify business units and management of potential problems identified, which may be critical, complex, sensitive or urgent in nature, and work through resolutions as appropriate.
• Consult, resolve and/or recommend alternatives to internal/external customer issues which may be critical, complex, sensitive, or urgent in nature.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A minimum of five years relevant work experience that has contributed to the development of skills in accounting, including the ability to gather and analyze complex financial data and provide written explanations based upon analysis.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers, including spreadsheet applications, when conducting analysis and financial modeling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with people at all levels of an organization, including people with different styles and backgrounds; ability to work as a member of a team.
Preferences
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or an advanced degree.
• SAP financial modules competence.
• General understanding of utility regulation and the FERC Code of Regulations.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, company accounting policies, procedures and practices and company accounting systems; an understanding of the requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley legislation.

The Temporary Accounting Assistant III - AP will process miscellaneous accounting duties, filing and support. Ideal candidate skills include:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Financial statement preparation *
- Reconcile several general ledger detail accounts *
- Assist with quarterly and annual accounting reports *
- Trains and assists new accounting employees *
- Provide training to new hires on accounting software during new hire orientation *
- Acts in the capacity of the support for compliance, portfolio managers, and/or upper management involving challenging issues surrounding HUD and or RD subsidies *
- Post rent collections and adjustments as needed *
- Review tenant activity in Boston Post and ResMan for accuracy. *
- Post rent corrections or adjustments as needed in Boston Post and ResMan. *
- Bi-weekly payroll processing including checking cash balances for available funds *
- Daily manual and AVID check processing *
- Downloading miscellaneous bank statements *
- Researching bank and payroll JEs for others *
- Timely processing of security deposit dispositions (Move out packets) to include review of required documents *
- Set up bank transfers *
- Post security deposit payments into Accounting software *
- Prepare & post various journal entries. *
- Reconcile bank accounts. *
- Travel as required for in person classes and annual education conferences*
- Performs other duties as assigned. *

Auditing lease documents and ledgers for accuracy and completion.
Assist with the bank reconciliation process, including downloading bank statements, compiling .pdf files, converting to signable forms, clearly naming files, and organizing them in cloud storage.
Requirements:
What you bring to CRMG as an Accounting Assistant
Six (6) months of experience in accounting or successful completion of an accounting course is preferred.
Property management experience is strongly preferred.
A strong work ethic with reliable attendance.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and a desire to learn every day.
Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks using excellent organization skills, good time management, and curiosity to research and solve problems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work on a team but also independently.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 with a strong foundation in Excel.
Familiar with accounting software (Entrata, Skyline, or Yardi experience is a plus!).
