ES3 is hiring Technical Support Specialists to join our IT Help Desk team. This role offers hands-on experience supporting a wide range of computer, network, and communication systems in a dynamic engineering environment. You'll work directly with end-users across multiple ES3 locations, gaining exposure to modern technologies and professional IT workflows.
Position Highlights
Support Windows, Mac, and Linux client operating systems and hardware
Assist / support O365 applications (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Monitor and respond to antivirus and malware alerts
Provide support for VPN and ZTNA applications
Adobe Acrobat, Engineering Applications and Software, Internal ERP System
Work with virtual machine hosts and clients
Troubleshot and support VOIP communications and web-enabled conferencing systems
Maintain and support print services across the organization
Collaborate with over 200 engineers, scientists, and technicians across ES3's facilities
Coordinate resolution of help desk tickets and escalate complex issues to senior IT staff
Operate from a private office in a modern work facility with access to current technologies
Participate in limited travel opportunities as needed
This position is based on site at ES3's Layton Engineering Office and supports staff across all ES3 locations, including facilities in San Diego, CA; Warner Robins, GA; Midwest City, OK; Jacksonville, FL; Abilene, TX; and Clearfield, UT.
Required Education and Availability
Demonstrated educational path in IT, Information Systems, or Software Development
Ability to work either morning (6:30-11:30 AM) or afternoon (12:30-5:30 PM), Monday-Friday

MAJOR DUTIES:
* Advise senior management on risk levels and weapon system security postures.
* Closely monitor and oversee the application of security principles and policies, to include customer instructions and directives.
* Closely plan for, monitor and oversee account and key management activities, ensuring Controlled Cryptographic Item (CCIs) and key material are operated, maintained, and disposed of appropriately.

You will complete certifications from Dell and Lenovo as part of your onboarding. Certifications are online and free to you.

You must have access to a computer and the Internet to log onto your portal each day.

* Serves as Deputy of a Line of Business (LOB) in the formation of goals, policies, and strategic planning to ensure that DISA-driven information technology policies and objectives are achieved for standardization and consolidation.
* Establishes goals and objectives, long- and short-range planning, and strategic plans, which address and meet the information requirements of Department of Defense customers in the LOB in geographically separated, but a heterogeneous environment.
* Analyzes Line of Business portfolios from a cost, capacity, and forecast perspective, and evaluates new technologies and applications.
* Represents the Line of Business in conferences, committees, and higher-level meetings to include the Department of Defense, DISA, Military Departments, Defense Agencies, other Federal Agencies, and commercial industry, among others.
* Sets broad objectives, monitors subordinate employees' performance in providing Line of Business services, reviews accomplishments, and takes appropriate corrective action when deficiencies are noted.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail - Experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been responsible for reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service - Developing and maintaining relationships with customers, anticipating and assessing the current and future information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products or services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication - Briefing senior-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of complex technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - Identifying alternatives to address unique, highly complex, or sensitive information technology-related issues. I have anticipated information technology-related problems and have identified and evaluated potential sources of information to generate alternative solutions
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-15, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience managing and directing data analysis regarding incident management; producing metrics to evaluate planned projects; and planning, designing, and implementing new/improved processes.

* Working knowledge of CISCO network and switching and virtualization technologies
* Working knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) technologies and data backup technologies
