Key Responsibilities:
Break-Fix: Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (i.e., shift work), to include nights and weekends, when needed.
Remote Hands: In-depth knowledge of data center equipment installation and basic testing methods and procedures (MOPs). Knowledge of operating principles of data center, wireline and IP transport environments. Ability to interpret and perform tasks outlined in MOPs, vendor documentation, technical specifications, network practices, engineering letters and job aids. Knowledge of telephony networks, optical and IP networks. Ability to identify all colors associated with telecommunications cable and equipment indicator lights. Optical Testing and Troubleshooting: Complete all activities associated with physically placing equipment identified in project specification documents including but not limited to, routing, lacing, labeling, terminating and local / remote testing and turn up of ethernet, switchboard, fiber, and power cables. Utilize optical power meter, stabilized light source, VFL, OTDR, and test equipment to test 10/100G circuits using BERT, RFC2544, EtherSAM (Y.1564), and iPerf (1G-10G). Analyze and resolve network issues associated with equipment installations / removals. Perform and assist card level troubleshooting and replacement procedures with assistance from control centers and/or back-office engineers.
Site Audits: Review project specifications to validate equipment placement, cable assignments and determine cable lengths then document results in proprietary databases. Provide timely and accurate feedback to audit / survey requests.
Racking and Stacking: Install, organize, and maintain hardware equipment in data center racks following standard operating procedures. The ability to use hand tools and power tools. Ability to learn and retain physical and mechanical installation specifications. Understanding of basic mechanical terms and tools.
Decommissioning: Safely remove and dispose of outdated or failed hardware following data destruction protocols.
Hardware Replacement: Replace faulty hardware components, including transport routers, servers, switches, and other network & IT equipment.
Power Management: Work with power feeds, including redundancy, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and manage hot/cold aisles effectively.
Documentation: Read and interpret cut-sheets for physical network installation, ensuring accurate port connections and cable management.

In this role:
You will apply your broad knowledge of IT and proven innovation and IT solutioning skills to manage and improve the IT and Cloud network infrastructure at Serco North America.
+ You will be responsible for providing automation solutions for monitoring and management of the IT Infrastructure for current and future proposal efforts.
+ Collaborate with other SMEs, Subject Matter Experts, with in the other matrix departments and Business Units to develop comprehensive and compelling technical solutions
+ Develop technical solutions to meet customer technical, schedule and price requirements that also provide best value.
+ Maximize use of repeatable solutions and offerings when applicable for projects.
+ Provide technical execution support.
+ Provide technical expertise to the PM during program start-ups.
+ Assist and conduct Oral and Written Presentations to our DoD customers.
+ Assist in technical issue resolution as requested by the Program Manager
+ Partner with internal technical, management and leader stakeholders to devise innovative technical solutions that fit within customer constraints.
+ Lead develops tailored Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) IAW company standards and customer requirements.
+ Lead development of the resource-loaded Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), integrating different functional inputs into a coherent, executable project plan.
+ Tailor the engineering development process in support of the above activities
+ You will be responsible for the development of migration solutions to Cloud environments.
+ You will be responsible for the development of IT Help Desk knowledge management plans.
+ You will be responsible for providing IT infrastructure with upgrade recommendations.
+ Identify technical solution requirements.
+ Other duties may be assigned. This position will report to a Program Manager or Director within the Business Units at Serco North America and capture teams.
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will have:
+ DOD Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance which requires US Citizenship.
+ Bachelor's degree Computer Science, Information Systems, or Cybersecurity.
+ At least seven (7) years' experience in U.S. DoD IT infrastructure management with relevant experience within the last two (2) years related to the job description listed above.
+ Active Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification or in the process of obtaining your CISSP within the next six months.please add your ID number to your profile or list it on your resume for verification purposes or date of scheduled exam.
