You will be expected to work independently with representatives from network operations, associate managers, consultants, design engineers and construction contractors for TDS Telecom Network Services to ensure that the needs of the company are being met. You will be responsible for the implementation of fiber networks while conforming to existing TDS Outside Plant (OSP) guidelines and TDS OSP standards established for the Telecom Network Services. You'll be expected to stay current with National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and ensure our construction is always in compliance with NESC standards. Depending on the area, you may be required to assist in the engineering of the OSP projects. This involves, among other things, creating the labor, material, and overhead project estimates. As a Network Specialist - OSP Construction you'll be expected to oversee numerous construction projects, possibly located in multiple locations. You will continually monitor costs and job progress to ensure that construction projects are completed on time and within budget. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent required. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent; CCNP Preferred. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE Extensive experience with Cisco networking technologies (routers, switches, ASA firewalls) and Cisco Meraki cloud-managed solutions. Familiarity with Database networking including Cisco NDO (Nexus Dashboard Orchestrator) for multi-site and ACI fabric management. Hands-on experience with SD-WAN technologies (VeloCloud). Strong knowledge of Fortinet firewall administration and F5 BIG-IP load balancing/application delivery administration. Proficiency with network automation, Ansible experience preferred. Experience in network monitoring and performance analysis with SolarWinds or similar tools. Knowledge of cloud networking architectures, with GCP experience preferred (AWS/Azure a plus). Expert understanding of networking fundamentals: routing, switching, QoS, VLANs, VPNs, multicast, and Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols. Strong grasp of network security best practices including segmentation, access control, and secure remote connectivity. Hands-on experience with Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control, policy configuration, and troubleshooting. Practical knowledge of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions, including deployment and administration for secure remote access. Position Summary We are seeking a Crane Service Technician - Level 2 or Level 3 to join our Western Montana location. This position is ideal for experienced technicians with strong mechanical and electrical skills who are ready to take on more complex service tasks. You will perform inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and installations on overhead cranes and hoists, including advanced troubleshooting and customer communication. Responsibilities Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs of overhead cranes and hoists per OEM manuals and OSHA standards. Work on 3-motion cranes with VFDs (no encoder) or contactors, including 5-speed pendants or remotes. Service and troubleshoot uncommon brake systems such as Whiting SESA and Magnetek thruster brakes. Demonstrate thorough understanding of AC control circuit principles including Ohm's Law and voltage drop. Troubleshoot and repair contactor motor control systems. Rig up and install new crane equipment with proper safety and mechanical procedures. Explain repair plans, troubleshooting processes, and required parts to customers clearly and professionally. Properly diagnose mechanical components including wheels, bearings, and reducers. Identify and understand crane control components in hoist and bridge panels. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Follow all safety procedures and company policies. Communicate effectively with customers and team members. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Minimum 2 years of experience in crane service or industrial maintenance. Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting tools and safe practices. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to work at heights and in industrial environments. Preferred Skills (Not Required) Technical training or certifications in industrial maintenance or electrical systems. Experience with crane installations and rigging. Customer service experience in a technical field.
