POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Functions
Checks, analyzes, and verifies information contained on incoming documents for accuracy prior to time stamping or electronic acceptance and processing. May make some independent procedural decisions but should seek support as needed if documents are not correct and notify the filer.
Receives payment and issues receipts for documents, services, and requests requiring payment of a fee.
Prepares, types, processes, issues, and certifies various standard civil legal forms according to the PA Rules of Civil Procedure.
Analyzes documents in order to correctly compose a docket entry to accurately record the nature of the filing on the official docket. Must be able to understand if the document requires other actions to be taken with regard to the file and docket.
Calculates interest and costs on judgments and executions being entered and recorded against a party in a case. If the filing contains errors, the filer is responsible for addressing them.
Assists the public with the process of searching Prothonotary records, and researches and answers inquiries related to docket entries and case dispositions as allowed by Court Order, and assists with more specific information requests.
Answers phones and furnishes information to the public regarding matters pending before the Court, as well as directs callers to other offices as appropriate.
Retrieves, copies, and/or faxes documents/files maintained in the Prothonotary's Office for the public, the Courts, and all County Offices, State and Local Police Departments, School Districts, and Prisons, as needed.
Operates and maintains the basics of various office equipment, including PCs, laser printers, copiers, scanners, imagers, time stamp machines, and cash registers.
Prepares all files for storage and maintains computer records for tracking purposes.
Responsible for the intake, docketing, filing, and maintenance of all confidential Mental Health documents (Commitments) received through Service Access Management (SAM).
Receives Passport Applications and verifies the identity of the applicant in accordance with the guidelines of the US Department of State. Responsible for ensuring the application is complete, that the appropriate fees are charged and collected based upon the type of application received, and that all applications are forwarded daily to the US Passport Agency. Must also interact with the US Passport Agency in resolving customer problems and issues.
Non-Essential Functions
Assists with training co-workers as needed.
Tracks and locates documents throughout the office before processing has been completed, as requested.
Assembles a variety of data from office records for incorporation into various Prothonotary reports. Said data/reports may be maintained for audit purposes, court administration needs, and judicial requests.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE;

Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Instructs, motivates, and assists patient to perform various postural and mobility related physical activities and in use of assistive and supportive devices such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and prostheses.
Teaches, motivates, and assists patient to perform individual skills and techniques required for participation in activities.
Consults with other members of interdisciplinary team to select activity programs consistent with needs and capabilities of individual and to coordinate occupational therapy with other therapeutic activities.
Designs and constructs special equipment for individual and suggests adaptation of individual's work living environment.
Observes patients' performance during treatments and compiles and evaluates data on patients' carryover and physical responses to treatments and progress, and reports findings orally or in writing to Occupational Therapist.
Instructs patient and family in home programs, as well as the care and use of adaptive equipment.
Prepares work materials, assists in maintenance and requisition of supplies and equipment (i.e., W/C).
Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart.
Assists in conducting in-services to staff in occupational therapy techniques and objectives.
Confers with Physician and other practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggest revisions in treatment program, and integrate occupational therapy treatment with other aspects of patient's health care.
Gives orientation to new Occupational Therapist Assistants and assists in providing direction to Occupational Therapy Students and Aides.
Must be supervised by a licensed Occupational Therapist at least 10% of the time worked in direct patient care, with face-to-face contact at least 1 time a month.
May assist in screening process, under the supervision of Occupational Therapist.
Ability to work with other therapists, nursing staff, patients, and caregivers in coordinating patient care to optimize outcomes.
Demonstrates good organizational, time management, and planning skills.
Demonstrates good working knowledge of Prospective Payment Systems (PPS) and Minimum Data Set (MDS), Medicare Part B, and other applicable reimbursement systems.
Adheres to all applicable federal, state and local standards of care and ethics and policies concerned with the practice of occupational therapy.
Attends meetings, seminars and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
Completes timely clinical documentation to include functional goal-setting, program and therapeutic approach.
Completes billing/administrative documentation timely and accurately.
Completes Resident screens in conjunction with annual MDS schedule and in response to nursing reports/referrals.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree (A. A.) from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program at a college or university.
Must be board certified and licensed by state.
Must have good knowledge of PPS and MDS.
Computer literacy required.
Must have own motorized transportation to commute between facilities as required.
