    Special Programs Coordinator - Adult Education (Non-Credit) DEPARTMENT: Adult Education - Economic & Business Development REPORTS TO: Associate Director - Adult Education POSITION STATUS: This is an MCCC/MTA, full-time, grant-funded, unit position with benefits. This position is subject to grant budget appropriations. SALARY: Minimum hiring salary $63,159 - $75,089 - Labor Grade 4 - actual salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the MCCC/MTA Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), which may result in a higher salary than the stated range. STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Education and Career Advisor assists students in developing, monitoring and fulfilling an Education and Career Plan that aligns student interests, goals, and abilities with a career, and outlines the steps needed to prepare for that career. The Advisor assumes primary responsibility for onboarding new students, which includes intake, orientation and placement assessment. The Advisor also works with students while enrolled in the program - administers pre and post assessments, monitors student progress and attendance and provides referral services as needed to support student retention. The Advisor also provides a continuum of advising services that supports student success and transition to next steps and monitors post exit outcomes. The Education and Career Advisor collaborates with other advisors and program staff on programmatic matters and student learning opportunities.
