PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Coordinate and administer the District's employee leave programs in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Provide accurate, timely communication and guidance to employees and supervisors regarding leave eligibility, absences, and return-to-work processes.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
* High school diploma or GED required
* Bachelor's degree preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
* Knowledge of leave administration and applicable employment laws
* Ability to interpret policies and effectively communicate information to individuals and groups
* Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
* Proficiency in typing, keyboarding, and records management

Experience:
* Minimum of three (3) years of experience in humanresources, insurance, or a closely related field

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Benefits Administration
* Serve as the subject-matter expert for District leave programs under the general direction of HR leadership and in coordination with the Legal Department.
* Interpret, administer, and ensure compliance with leave programs and Board policies in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, ADAAA, USERRA, and the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.
* Review medical documentation and evaluate leave requests; make recommendations regarding approval or denial based on applicable guidelines and information provided.
* Coordinate, organize, and maintain confidential medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA and employee privacy requirements.
* Manage all administrative aspects of leave, including tracking leave usage and collaborating with campuses and departments to ensure absences are accurately and timely recorded.
* Work directly with employees to ensure required documentation is submitted and reviewed within established timelines.
* Maintain appropriate and ongoing communication with employees on leave and coordinate return-to-work processes.
* Prepare and present leave-related reports as requested.

Project Overview:
Louisiana LNG is located approximately 11 miles southwest of Lake Charles, Louisiana. The project includes a mid-scale, mixed-refrigerant Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) production and export facility on the west side of the Calcasieu River. There are five identical process plants. Each process plant consists of one gas pre-treatment unit, one condensate stabilization unit, and four Chart heavy hydrocarbon (HHC) removal and liquefaction groups. The facility will include associated utilities, refrigerant storage, three 235,000m3 full-containment LNG storage tanks, and three marine berths.
Job Summary:
As a Project HumanResources Representative for Louisiana LNG Project, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our project by performing a variety of HR support activities throughout the project lifecycle. You will contribute to fostering a positive work culture and optimize talent utilization. Our collaborative and inclusive work environment aims to nurture individual growth and foster a sense of teamwork to ensure progress and success of our HR policies and programs for all our colleagues. Major Responsibilities:
Manage employment-related investigations, end-to-end, including conducting intake meetings, background research, investigative interviews, report-writing, corrective actions, and debrief meetings.
Coach and advise all levels of management through employee relations matters (e.g., interpersonal conflicts, communication of employment decisions, advice on policy application, performance management, mental health concerns, workforce reductions, etc.).
Support the mediation and resolution of conflicts within project teams, promote constructive dialogue, and find amicable solutions to ensure project continuity.
Facilitate training sessions or workshops to enhance team capabilities to contribute to a high-performing work environment and foster team synergy.
Coordinate career development plans for our colleagues. Assist managers and supervisors with conducting regular performance discussions.
Provide guidance to supervisors and managers on 360, UFM (upper feedback meetings), and interpretation related to humanresources and promoting a culture of talent development.

Design and implement employee engagement initiatives to maintain a positive work culture and boost team morale. Foster open communication and be a trusted resource where employees can go to address their concerns.

Analyze various aspects of the employment cycle (hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations), design applicable reporting systems, recommend methods to reduce turnover, and to increase organizational effectiveness.
Create and maintain both ad hoc and existing reports in PowerBI and TalentWorks.

This role is intended to begin part‑time during the Spring term, with the intent to transition to a full‑time internship during the Summer, based on performance and business needs.
What You Will Be Doing:
With training and supervision from experienced laboratory and engineering professionals, you will:
Assist with routine and non‑routine laboratory testing using approved instruments and procedures
Collect, prepare, process, and store catalyst and laboratory samples
Calculate, document, and report test results using computer‑based systems
Support operation of pilot reactors and laboratory equipment when trained and authorized
Generate routine laboratory and experimental reports
Assist with identifying and troubleshooting laboratory equipment issues
Maintain laboratory equipment and a clean, organized work environment
Follow proper waste handling, disposal, and recycling procedures
Comply with all safety, health, and environmental requirements and use required PPE
Utilize standard software systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and LIMS
Learn how laboratory data and engineering support activities contribute to safe, reliable chemical operations
During the final month of the internship, you will prepare and deliver a presentation to leadership and local HR highlighting the projects you worked on, key skills and learnings, mentors you partnered with, and individuals you shadowed throughout the program
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline
Local to the Orange, TX area for on-site work
Ability to work safely in a laboratory and industrial manufacturing environment
Strong attention to detail and interest in hands‑on technical work
Strong analytical aptitude with the ability to apply math, logic, and engineering principles to real‑world problems
Ability to follow procedures and accurately document work
Basic computer proficiency
Interest in the specialty chemicals or industrial manufacturing industry

Responsibilities
As a Safety Intern, you'll be part of a team implementing and overseeing the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures. You'll assist in monitoring the various construction projects activities, ensuring the compliance with pertinent government regulations, state or provincial, client, and company policies and procedures. You'll assist in establishing and monitoring safe working conditions for our most valuable assets - our people. You'll provide corrective action recommendations and assist in implementing metrics for tracking and reporting on performance issues when needed. Safety Interns will review project work plans for accuracy in conformance with all standards and assist in safety program audits, coaching and regular onsite training. You must have the ability to carry out duties in varying work environments including wide-ranging weather conditions and terrain with the ability to travel and/or relocate as required for projects.
Qualifications
* Must be pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Safety, or a related field of study
* Knowledge of construction safety, current Federal and OSHA requirements
* Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Strong written and verbal communication skill
* Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies
* Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
* Ability to work with all levels in the organization from craft to leadership
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment
* The ability to travel and relocate as required
