JOB SUMMARY
The International Experience Coordinator is a seasonal HR role supporting both staff housing and NOC's international J-1 student community. This position ensures housing remains safe and well-maintained while also serving as a key point of connection for students navigating daily life in a new country. From coordinating transportation to essential services to helping them explore the culture and beauty of the region (hiking and biking on local trails, rafting, visiting local attractions like the Biltmore, etc.), you'll help create a supportive, engaging, and memorable experience for every student.
Responsibilities
Coordinate times to take J1 students into town as needed
Drive students to the necessary places whether it is wants or needs
Plan trips and experiences in the surrounding areas with the J1 students
Maintain a reasonable timeframe for how long the J1 students are gone off site
Pick up and drop off J1 students at the airport upon arrival and departure into the country
Communicate and address housing issues that include but are not limited to: lockouts, small maintenance requests, inventory of supplies
Coordinate and help with move ins and check outs for staff
Reset codes/locks for doors any time a new tenant takes a room in staff housing
Maintain great communication with other mayors, tenants, and the manager of HR
Qualifications
Excellent ability to maintain multiple communication channels
Ability to prioritize tasks and set schedules appropriately
Available from early March to the end of October
Valid driver's license and the ability to be on our companies vehicle insurance
Ability to drive for extended periods at a time
Prior knowledge of J1 visas or staff housing is not required but it is helpful

Position Summary

The role supports the effective delivery, compliance, and day-to-day operation of a federally funded TRIO program by coordinatingprogram activities, assisting with grant and budget administration, supporting reporting and evaluation requirements, and facilitating communication with internal and external stakeholders. ABOUT THE ROLE
The ProgramCoordinator leads the Out-of-School Time (OST) program at one facility. The ProgramCoordinator works directly with other staff, children, families, and school and community partners to establish and maintain a successful OST program at their assigned location. This Substance Abuse ProgramCoordinator (SAPC) position is located at the DART Center (Goldsboro, NC). This is a 300-bed residential treatment facility responsible for the delivery of chemical dependency treatment services to probationers sent by the courts and parolees released from the State Prison System and transitioning back into the community.
Rehabilitation and Reentry Treatment staff plans, administers, and coordinates chemical dependency screening and substance use disorder treatment services within the Department of Adult Correction. The Substance Abuse
ProgramCoordinator is responsible for providing administrative and clinical supervision for substance abuse. This employee serves as the building administrator and receives direct supervision from the Human Services Program Manager II (Facility Manager). As the building administrator, this employee is responsible for the management of materials and equipment ensuring that safety standards and practices are followed, and equipment and furnishings are in proper working order. This employee directly supervises the Substance Abuse Workers (up to 13) positions assigned to the twelve-week program and indirectly supervisors the Substance Abuse Counselors in the building. Employees supervised by this position provide all aspects of alcohol/drug treatment in a residential setting including but not limited to; intake and assessments, treatment, documentation, individual/group counseling, alcohol/drug education, recovery planning, referrals, continuous program operations and responses. This employee is responsible for developing work schedules, assigning, supervising, and appraising job performance and coordinates activities of his/her unit with other unit administrators in order to enhance overall program effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

Housing Assignments and Operations
Work with the Program and Room Assignment Manager on mid-year room changes and break housing assignments for residents of your assigned residence halls (5-9 buildings).
Maintain accurate occupancy records of your assigned residence halls (5-9 buildings).
Submit housing charges to the office of Student Accounts when appropriate.
Communicate housing deadlines to students.
Act as a liaison between residents and facilities operations and other campus partners when issues arise within the residential area.

Responsibilities
Program Management:
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the before/after/summer program, ensuring smooth and efficient execution of program activities
Coordinate and schedule program events, activities, and sessions
Ensure that program activities are aligned with grant objectives and organizational goals
Ensure that programs are in compliance with state and local licensing and sanitation rules and regulations
Staff Support:
Provide guidance and support to group leaders
Assist with the recruitment, training, and evaluation of group leaders
Conduct regular meetings with group leaders in collaboration with the Associate Regional Programming Director to address issues, provide updates, and ensure effective communication
Supervision and Safety:
Supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
Implement and enforce program rules and procedures to maintain a positive and safe environment
Address any behavioral issues or conflicts promptly and effectively
Maintain supervision of staff and provide assistance when needed
Conduct regular staff meetings, one-on-one meetings, performance evaluations and provide ongoing professional development opportunities
Foster a positive and collaborative team environment
Participant Engagement:
Develop and implement strategies to engage program participants and enhance their experience
Monitor participant attendance, behavior, and progress, and address any concerns as needed
Facilitate communication with parents and guardians regarding program activities and participant progress
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure that program operations comply with grant requirements and organizational policies
Prepare and submit regular reports on program activities, outcomes, and compliance to the Associate Regional Programming Director
Maintain accurate attendance records and submit to the Childcare Administrator as required
Maintain accurate records of program activities, expenditures, and participant data
Curriculum and Activity Planning:
Ensure proper implementation of curriculum and program activities
Ensure that curriculum materials and resources are available and used effectively
Evaluate the effectiveness of program activities and make recommendations for improvements
Budget and Resource Management:
Coordinate the procurement and distribution of program supplies and resources
Monitor and report on resource usage to ensure cost-effective program operations
Community and Stakeholder Relations:
Build and maintain positive relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and local organizations
Represent the program at community events and meetings to promote program visibility and engagement
Address any community or stakeholder concerns related to the program
Provide leadership and support to the site directors and site personnel in regards to the annual fundraising campaign; responsible for percentage of annual campaign support annually
Be a positive spokesperson, advocate, supporter, and promoter of all YMCA programs at all times
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree in Education, Youth Development, Early Childhood Education, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred; EDU 119 and BSAC preferred
Minimum of 2 years of experience in programcoordination or management, preferably in a youth development or educational setting
Experience with grant-funded programs and compliance is highly preferred
Knowledge:
Understanding of youth development principles and best practices
Knowledge of grant requirements
Familiarity with curriculum development and program planning
Skills:
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software

The School of Teaching and Learning provides undergraduate and graduate preparation for students in teacher education. Project ELEVATE is in the School of Teaching and Learning. Project ELEVATE is a US Department of Education grant, funded to support the interprofessional preparation of graduate students to support individuals with autism and moderate to severe intellectual disabilities. This position is dependent upon these grant funds and is time-limited.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
General Competence includes familiarity and competence with budgeting practices.
Communication Skills involve excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop strong relationships with both internal and external constituencies. Moreover, one should possess skills in composing and clearly conveying information across various media.
