Position Overview The Regional Coordinator is the lead point of coordination, leadership, and accountability for Mississippi Votes' programming, field operations, and regional presence in an assigned area of the state. This role requires both strategic and operational capacity: the Regional Coordinator co-develops the regional field plan aligned with statewide goals, supervises field and youth organizing staff, manages the regional office, and maintains strong community relationships across the region. This position is responsible for translating statewide field strategy into local execution, setting and tracking regional field targets, making data-informed decisions, and ensuring that voter registration, civic education, election protection, and turnout work are successfully implemented. The Regional Coordinator reports to and works closely with the Field Director. The Regional Coordinator works with fellow Regional Coordinators to build, test, evaluate, and strengthen Mississippi Votes' statewide field model. Key Responsibilities Field Strategy, Planning, & Implementation Co-develop the regional field plan in alignment with statewide goals, metrics, and timelines Set regional voter registration, voter turnout, and civic engagement targets Run or approve regional field tactics including canvassing, relational organizing, phone banking, texting, tabling, field launches, and voter education events Use voter data tools (VAN, TargetSmart, EveryAction, etc.) to guide strategy, turf cutting, and progress tracking Hold regional organizers, fellows, and volunteers accountable to field metrics and reporting standards Lead regional execution of Election Protection, GOTV, campus engagement, ballot access, and other election cycle programming Participate in statewide field strategy meetings, data reviews, and post-cycle debriefs Team Leadership & Staff Supervision Directly supervise the Field Organizer, Youth Organizer, regional fellows, and interns Provide work plans, weekly check-ins, coaching, performance feedback, and accountability based on internal organization wide structures Uphold MS Votes' commitment to youth leadership, anti-oppressive organizing, and values-based supervision Ensure all staff follow data, safety, confidentiality, and compliance procedures Community Partnerships & Volunteer Engagement Build and sustain relationships with community leaders, campuses, grassroots organizations, local government, and movement partners Recruit, train, and retain volunteers who support year-round voter engagement efforts Represent MS Votes in regional coalitions, civic spaces, and public-facing events Ensure programming reflects the identities, needs, and strengths of the communities served Regional Operations & Administration Manage the day-to-day operations of the regional office, ensuring functionality, safety, and alignment with organizational policy Track and submit weekly and monthly reports on field metrics, volunteer engagement, and program outcomes Support regional budget tracking and expense submissions as required Maintain strong internal communication with statewide staff, including communications, policy, and leadership teams Values and Leadership Expectations Commitment to pro-Black, pro-queer, pro-youth, anti-oppressive organizing practices Ability to collaborate and lead across lines of race, age, gender, and lived experience Strong belief in collective power, voter access, grassroots leadership, and long-term movement building Grounded in harm reduction, accountability, transparency, and liberation-centered politics Youth-Led Movement Alignment Must uphold MS Votes' belief that young people are not just participants but leaders in shaping democracy Must be comfortable coaching, managing, and mobilizing emerging organizers ages 16-30 Must demonstrate respect for youth wisdom, autonomy, and political analysis Travel & Schedule Requirements This role requires frequent travel within the assigned region and occasional statewide travel for staff meetings, retreats, and program execution Must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and the ability to transport materials and supplies Evening and weekend work is required during peak voter engagement periods, election cycles, trainings, and special events Qualifications Experience in grassroots or electoral organizing, political campaigns, advocacy, youth leadership development, or community-based work Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers in an organizing or field setting Experience using voter/contact data platforms (VAN, TargetSmart, PDI, etc.) or willingness to be trained Strong project management, time management, and communication skills Ability to move between big-picture planning and hands-on implementation Ability to work independently and meet goals with limited oversight Lived experience in Mississippi communities and/or deep knowledge of Mississippi's political and cultural landscape is strongly preferred Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience in organizing, advocacy, or public-facing leadership Compensation & Benefits Salary: $68,000 annually Monthly cell phone stipend Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage at 50% paid by MS Votes 100% employer-covered mental health support benefit Paid holidays, PTO, and organizational closure periods Professional development opportunities Mississippi Votes is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
