Job Type: Full Time Location: TX Laredo McPherson Blvd - US031 JOB SUMMARY This position is responsible for the timely processing, snd release of all client shipments in accordance with Livingston's operating procedures and service standards, ensuring commitment time is met to earn the clients' complete satisfaction. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES * Ensure accurate and timely processing of shipments which could include all modes of transportation. * Create customs entries through review, proper selection of client and client records, proper vendor and keyword selection, interpretation of documentation for all clients' shipments, in a one-step process for both high and low value shipments. * Data entry of shipment information for release (NSC), rating and billing and ensuring that all mandatory fields are completed and accurate. * Ensure correct value for duty is reported based on invoice details and terms of sale. Establish correct value for duty and tariff treatment by selecting the correct keyword/HS code * Contact Release Import Analyst or the client service team as required for missing documentation, information or instructions necessary to release a shipment. * Verify documentation for release conditions, compliance and rating compliance (e.g., free trade certificates). * Ensure that all LI,I SOP's, ESPs (Exceptions to Standard Procedures) and business rules are adhered to following special client instructions, notes and alerts. Identifies those that have become outdated or ineffective, making recommendations for change. * Identify ESPs and SOPs to improve efficiencies to enhance client service and improve day to day Client Service team operations. * Research and respond to Call Center requests for information (ranges from BOL update to driver waiting) in a professional manner via phone or email in non-Air/Sea locations. * Prioritize and complete work in accordance with client and customs requirements as assigned by the Production Manager / Manager, Release Operations in compliance with Customs requirements Livingston standards. * Escalate two-step release requirements, authorization or release issue resolution to the Client Import Analyst, Release Import Analyst or Supervisor in the US or the Customs Specialist supporting Release Operations in Canada, for escalation authorization or issue resolution. * Update, approve and release information for billing as required. (Canada only) * When applicable, assist in billing and data entry (ASR - automated systems rating) where required. * Participate fully with other team members in the day-to-day operation of Release Operations. * Endeavor to utilize and take advantage of system automation tools that are available to support release processing. * Perform other related duties as assigned by management. * Adhere to established policies and procedures.     Work Arrangement: In-office A Day in the Life A typical day in the life as a Client Accounting Services Associate in Abilene, TX might include the following: * Works on a team to provide accounting services for clients from a multi-faceted approach. * Actively handles day-to-day accounting needs for clients, functioning as their accounting department. * Oversees and reviews work of outsourced accounting specialists. * Serves as a key point of contact on day-to-day accounting matters for the client. * Utilizes technology to properly account for all accounting transactions for the client in real-time. * Reconciles client bank accounts. * Calculates month-end balancing and journal entries and provides an analysis of GL accounts to support or serve as the outsourced controller during the month-end process for clients. * Prepares reports, returns, and other documents as required, including sales tax reports, year-end tax forms, monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements, and other reports required by clients. * Provides the outsourced CFO with analysis of accounting information for high-level advisory services. * Makes recommendations on how to streamline processes. * Provides backup support as needed to other outsourced accounting specialists and their clients. * Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects. * Maintains compliance with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines. Who You Are * You have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. * A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license or are working towards obtaining one of these licenses is preferred, but not required. * Knowledge of general ledger accounting and principals. * Ability to think innovatively to incorporate technology solutions and streamlined processes. * Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally. * Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities with work projects. * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and clients. * Proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), QuickBooks, and using various software packages.
