The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) is seeking a dedicated Information Technology Technician to join the Bureau of Communication and Information Services. In this vital position, you will support the development and maintenance of databases, identify and manage network hardware associated with body-worn cameras, mobile video recorders, interview room recording systems, mobile data terminals, routers, and related technologies, and provide technicalsupport within the Fleet Technology Integration Section. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will provide technicalsupport and guidance to help desk staff and end users experiencing issues with Body-Worn Cameras (BWC), Mobile Video Recorders (MVR), Interview Room Recorders (IRR), Mobile Data Terminals (MDT), and network-related services. You will receive and respond to calls from field personnel, assess and diagnose reported issues, and either recommend appropriate solutions or coordinate with service providers to ensure timely resolution or repair. Responsibilities include responding to inquiries from Troop Communications Specialists (TCS), IT technicians, and other section staff, serving as a liaison between TCS and the division to coordinate equipment requests and support for unique operational needs. In addition, you will assist with coordinating all aspects of BWC, MVR, MDT, IRR, router, and vehicle-related technology, including scheduling, materials, preparation, and logistics. You will further support training efforts by delivering instruction on these systems, preparing and maintaining training and equipment documentation, and ensuring materials remain current with system updates and changes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position may require availability outside of scheduled working hours for deployment of PSP mobile command posts, fixed command posts, and joint operations centers. This may necessitate shift changes and extended working hours as needed to ensure operational needs and priorities are met.
Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $51,971.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
Two years of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance; or
One year of experience providing IT support services involving hardware and software installation, operation, and maintenance and completion of a one-year apprenticeship in the IT technicalsupport field; or
One year of experience as an IT Help Desk Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
An associate degree in an IT field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

This particular position also requires possession of a valid driver's license.
You must obtain an active Commonwealth Law Enforcement Assistance Network (CLEAN) certification issued by the Pennsylvania State Police within the probationary period and maintain the same for the duration of employment in this job.

About the role

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
The general area of responsibility of the position is to work as a technicalspecialist for the Point-of-Service (POS) system. The duties include support, maintenance, and enhancements to the POS system. The position also supports integration of the PLCB (Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board) ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system with the POS system. This position shares a division of statewide responsibility for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's Point of Service (POS) System, which includes both hardware and software for each of over 600 Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores, 10 training academies, several testing sites and management systems. Additional responsibilities include:
Oversees and coordinates the installation of POS equipment and systems in all sites, stores and temporary locations such as festival stores. Ensures that the equipment and systems are installed correctly by working with several support personnel with ranging degrees of technical knowledge. Works with various teams and contractors to accomplish this activity.
Provides a variety of technicalsupport, consultation, and systems enhancement activities for users in various areas of the Liquor Control Board. Acts as an expert on the subject of POS.
Responds as advanced support to escalated problems from Service Now tickets and incoming calls. Problems come from a variety of users and support staff. Opens and resolves service requests with vendors as well as with the internal help desk system.
Provides on-call support for critical issues during off hours on a rotating basis. This includes weekends and some holidays.

Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
Telework: This position is eligible for telework. You will have the opportunity to work from home part-time up to three days a week, with two days per week in the Northwest Office Building in Harrisburg. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Telework arrangements are subject to change. Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
Four years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
Two years of information technology experience that includes one year of technical information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, network operation or network maintenance, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
A bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
