Job Description Brightspeed is looking for an experienced Network Technician to join our growing team! In this critical role as a Network Technician you will be responsible for all aspects of working in the physical Central Office. As a Network Technician you will be required to work overtime and weekends. As Network Technician your responsibilities will include: Supporting and maintaining all switching equipment in Central Offices Keeping all backup generators in optimum condition Installing, supporting, and maintaining special circuits and being capable of working within the TIRKS system Monitoring and supporting all switch alarm activity Installing, supporting, and maintaining fiber and copper networks Supporting and maintaining transport networks and central power platforms Qualifications WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE: Familiarity with both inside and outside plant cabling practices Self-motivated and able to drive issues to resolution Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services Knowledge of safety rules and regulations Ability to work well with both customers and fellow peers. #LI-GF1 Additional Information WHY JOIN US? As part of your onboarding, you will be certified in Dell and Lenovo. All certifications are free to you. Job Details This is a 1099 Contract position. Call volume varies but is typically between 2-5 calls per day. Pay is based on the number of calls completed. Pay starts at $35 per ticket. You will be completing hardware part replacements for Dell and Lenovo warranty services. Pay period -every Friday after the first week of completing tickets. You must have a reliable form of transportation to run these calls. You must have access to a computer and the internet to log onto your portal. Tickets are run Monday through Friday. You must be able to log into your tech portal every workday by 9 am to accept, code (update status), and map out your calls. You will be responsible for contacting your customers and confirming a window to go onsite to complete the service. Parts will be provided for you by the manufacturers. They are typically held at FedEx for you to pick up in the morning. You will be provided with shipping labels and materials to return the removed parts.
