Job Description We are seeking a skilled and motivated Biomedical Equipment Technician - Info/Sys to join our healthcare facility's dynamic team. As a Biomedical Equipment Technician with networking experience, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and safety of our networked medical equipment. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks including preventive and corrective maintenance, incoming inspections, medical device security, cybersecurity, network maintenance, equipment installations, electrical safety inspections, addressing hazard recalls, software repairs, and experience with Cerner. The ideal candidate should possess a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care through the proper functioning of networked medical equipment. Responsibilities: Perform routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of networked medical equipment to ensure optimal functionality and extend equipment lifespan. Conduct corrective maintenance by diagnosing and repairing malfunctions in medical devices, adhering to manufacturer's guidelines and technical specifications. Carry out incoming inspections of new medical equipment to verify its compliance with safety standards, functionality, and accuracy. Collaborate with the IT and cybersecurity teams to implement and maintain medical device security protocols, ensuring patient data confidentiality and protection against cyber threats. Install, calibrate, and configure medical equipment, following manufacturer instructions and safety guidelines. Monitor and address hazard and safety recalls related to medical equipment, coordinating with manufacturers and relevant departments for swift resolution. Perform software repairs and updates on medical devices to address software glitches, improve functionality, and ensure compatibility with other systems. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Provide technical support and training to medical staff on the proper operation and handling of networked medical equipment. About the role: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network/Systems Administrator to join our Navy delivery team in Crane, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and hands-on experience in managing both Windows and Linux-based systems, as well as network equipment with a strong passion for optimizing and maintaining infrastructure. Candidate will be integral to ensuring the stability, security, and performance of Navy servers and systems in support of Navy Integrated Warfare Systems (IWS) mission needs, playing a critical role in supporting the customer's IT operations and mission objectives. The candidate must have experience maintaining compliance with DISA STIG requirements, including implementing and managing security controls, and ensuring that all systems adhere to STIG and cyber security guidelines. Candidate will have a thorough understanding of how to assess and remediate vulnerabilities, apply necessary patches, and continuously monitor systems to uphold the highest standards of security and compliance within a government or defense-related IT environment. Responsibilities: Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers, hardware and software, including installation, configuration, and ongoing updates Implement and maintain DISA STIG and/or other security hardening compliance across various systems and network infrastructure Develop and maintain backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability Provide support to end-users, including resolving system-related issues and answering technical queries Assessment and remediation of vulnerabilities according to cyber security guidelines Monitor and track and customer infrastructure products (hardware and software) for license tracking and End of Life planning Research and Investigate exploits and vulnerabilities and recommended remediations Apply security patches and updates in a timely manner to keep systems secure and up to date Monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps Required Skills and Experience: Proven experience as a System Administrator Exceptional time management skills with a strong ability to multi-task Deep knowledge of Windows and RHEL-based Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Rocky Linux) Strong knowledge of DISA STIG guidelines and best practices and general system and network hardening Proficiency in shell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible). Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Experience with virtualization and containerization technologies (e.g., VMware, Docker). Familiarity with security assessment tools and vulnerability scanning tools Familiarity with Amazon Web Services or other Cloud technologies Education and Certification Requirements: Bachelor's degree in information technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) Must possess CompTIA Security+ certification Citizenship and Clearance requirement: US Citizenship required Active TS/SCI or previously held TS/SCI Location: Crane, Indiana Work Environment: Primarily at Naval Surface Warfare Center - Crane Division facilities.
