Binghamton University's Information Technology Services is seeking an experienced, energetic, engaging, and collaborative individual to join our TechnicalSupport team that provides hardware, software, and peripheral support to the Binghamton University community. This individual will work closely with the Department of Mathematics and Statistics and serve as their primary TechnicalSupport Analyst.
The TechnicalSupport Analyst must be able to work independently of direct supervision with a diverse, cross-functional group of professionals, faculty, and students to support all in the pursuit of academic excellence within a premier University environment. The TechnicalSupport Analyst reports to the Main Campus TechnicalSupport Manager and collaborates closely with Technology Support Services, other ITS teams, campus staff, and external vendors.
The TechnicalSupport Analyst will:
* Provide hardware and software support for university-owned devices (computers, mobile devices, copiers, monitors, and printers) including installation, configuration, upgrading, troubleshooting, and repair.
* Diagnose and resolve basic and complex problems; perform triage and escalate unresolved problems to groups within ITS when appropriate.
* Transfer data, map network drives, assist with faculty and staff email accounts and install new computers and applications.
* Assist with basic web server support.
* Research, recommend, and implement hardware and software purchases and configurations to meet user needs and to help ensure compatibility with university systems and architecture.
* Use the ITSM system (TeamDynamix) to thoroughly document incidents and resolutions.
* Use desktop management tools to streamline support and device management.
* Maintain fluency in new technologies that are used at Binghamton University.
* Provide flexible, patient, and creative solutions to issues as they arise.

Requirements:
* Associate's degree (or higher)
* Minimum of two years' work experience in technicalsupport or instructional technology support
* Experience installing and supporting current and legacy versions of Windows and mac OS
* Experience in troubleshooting and installing computer hardware
* Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Ability to travel to offices and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 30 pounds, reaching, bending, kneeling, crawling, or working in small spaces
* Ability to work effectively with a diverse community of faculty, staff, and students

Conducts all aspects of community services to individuals served in compliance with the JM Murray mission statement, policies and procedures, professional standards, and applicable governmental laws, rules and regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides community services, which include site-based and community based prevocational services, community habilitation services or both, to assigned individuals. Duties include services related to their work at community-based employers, including JM Murray, support with work assessments and volunteer opportunities, food shopping, general purchases, fitness activities, self-care skills training, specific to individual goals as outlined in the applicable Staff Action Plans.
Follows the schedule as assigned by the supervisor. Works cooperatively with others to ensure individuals receive service as scheduled and that requests by individuals for schedule changes are communicated to the supervisor.
Provides services to individuals served in site-based prevocational services at JM Murray Rt 13 location, through assistance to improve their work skills and performance, enhancing their readiness for competitive employment. Maintains knowledge and training if assigned to this task as a functional back to another assigned Sr. CSP.
Works directly with Operations Team Leaders and Supervisory Staff to ensure individuals are receiving the appropriate support to enhance their work skills and behaviors.
Consistently coordinates and leads group activities. Duties include preparation for the group, ensuring there are supplies available for the activities, creating a group schedule, and communicating details of the group with other staff. Maintains knowledge and training if assigned to this task as a functional back to another assigned Sr. CSP.
May assist the supervisor with providing shadowing experiences for new employees, showing new staff how to do various tasks such as signing out vehicles, signing out gas cards, etc.
May be requested to attend specific life plan meetings and provides updates on activities individuals have been doing and feedback on their progress towards their goals.
Provides supervisor with information and feedback regarding individual staff action plans and makes recommendations for modifications in order to enhance the skills and learning of individuals served.
Provides safe transportation and on-site supervision to support individuals at community sites. If using a company vehicle, ensures it is left clean inside and free of debris, it has gas in it, and that first aid kits are on hand. Immediately reports any mechanical, safety or other needs for repair and maintenance to Community Services management. Ensures employee personal vehicles are in safe working order, clean inside and free of excess debris.
Completes appropriate and timely documentation of services which includes the use of the JM Murray Electronic Medical Record, and the use of equipment such as a computer, laptop, and/or a tablet. Ensures that group activities are documented correctly so that billing for those services is accurate.
Attends all required training and meetings, and maintains certifications and updates to training, as assigned.
Conducts self in a manner as to always contribute to maximum individual growth and in accordance with all regulations, the DSP Code of Ethics and Company policy and procedures. Represents JM Murray and the JM Murray mission in a positive manner, treating people with respect and dignity.

Major Responsibilities
Operations:
* Install Windows/Macintosh desktop applications, computer hardware and peripheral devices for use in administrative offices and instructional spaces.
* Utilize endpoint management systems to install software, provide support, and maintain inventory records.
* Respond to user support requests submitted in the IT service management system. Respond to requests for equipment pick-up and equipment moves. Track and record services provided for assessment and reporting purposes.
* Troubleshoot and diagnose problems by asking informed questions. Test alternative solutions until issues are resolved. Provide step-by-step instructions to users for problem resolution. Conduct remote troubleshooting when needed. Escalate incidents as appropriate.
* Participate in campus-wide Information Security program. Follow established procedures for responding to security threats such as viruses, malware, ransomware, and phishing attempts. Monitor threat detection and remediate threats using the endpoint security console.
* Support end-users with multifactor authentication using various methods, such as mobile app, text message passcode, phone call, and USB token.
* Provide desktop printing support through on-site troubleshooting and resolution of common issues in the managed print system.
* Participate in the inventory control process which includes and is not limited to maintaining equipment inventory, hardware maintenance, user assignment, and equipment disposable records.
* On occasion, may work an evening or weekend to provide technological troubleshooting and support.
Communication:
* Provide information training and guidance to clients on the use of common applications and computer peripherals.
* Create and maintain documentation in shared documentation repository. Regularly review and revise documentation for updates.
* Communicate effectively with vendor representatives and support personnel.
* Participate in department and team meeting discussions about the tactical, operational, and strategic direction of our operations.
Professional Development:

Required Qualifications
